Nicolette M. Dakin, LCSW
Psychotherapist
You're capable, driven, and by most measures doing well. And yet something feels off; a quiet but persistent sense that you're not quite measuring up, that your relationships are harder than they should be, or that you're waiting for things to fall apart. You might be succeeding on paper while feeling stuck on the inside.
I help people untangle the stories that keep them from trusting themselves and the people around them. My clients are often academics, artists, and people in creative or nontraditional careers : thoughtful, high-effort people who are ready to stop being their own harshest critic.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience, trained at NYU and grounded in both psychodynamic and evidence-based approaches. I am also finishing my PhD in social psychology at CUNY, where I also serve as a researcher and instructor. This work shapes how I think about the way systems, identities, and inner lives intersect. I offer telehealth throughout New York State and Vermont.
